NIK ADINA TATY NIK ZAININ, CEO

NIK ADINA TATY NIK ZAININ, CEO of ContentLab Sdn Bhd has over 20 years of work experience in various government initiatives in key corporates and GLCs in Malaysia. She has a B. SC. in Psychology from the Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, U.S.A. She is currently the founder of ContentLab Sdn. Bhd., a local start-up committed to promoting ASEAN content to the community, region and the global market. The flagship initiative for ContentLab, the LEARNAsean initiative, is a comprehensive program to introduce ASEAN content to children using multiple media platforms.

 

Prior to starting her own venture, Adina was the Coordinator of the ASEAN Business Club, the leading platform for key ASEAN business leaders committed to the region’s integration efforts. She also concurrently held the position of Vice President of Outreach at the CIMB ASEAN Research Institute playing a key role in promoting ASEAN to the business community and youth. Her key strengths are in program design and management;  marketing and stakeholder engagement where she was the Head of Marketing and Donor Management for three national initiatives under Khazanah Nasional Berhad, focused on underprivileged schools, hardcore poverty and graduate employability. Adina also served as the Head of Channels and Partnerships under the CRADLE Investment, a company under the Ministry of Finance Inc.

 

Adina’s passion has always been in serving the community and children’s development whereby she had set up the CELCOM Child Development Centre and she helped developed the Character Building Curriculum under the National Service. Adina has been involved in training and development for youth and teens. She is also passionate in the preservation of the arts, culture and dance and has performed in many local and overseas dance drama productions specializing in the traditional art form- “Makyong”.

EDWIN EDRIS KHOO, COO

EDWIN EDRIS KHOO ABDULLAH has more than 20 years of progressive and diversified experience in marketing, finance, human resource development and operations. He was solely responsible for setting up Malaysia operations by bringing in International Footwear Brands such as Kickers (France), Sledgers (France), LA Gear (U.S.A.), Allen Edmonds (U.S.A.), Coleman (U.S.A.) as well as creating a house brand Bruno Fabiani. He is also the Marketing Director for Pushing Boundaries Sdn. Bhd., a family owned leading corporate wargames training company where he is responsible for forming partnerships with large MNCs, large corporations and Government Agencies to provide teambuilding and leadership development training. To name a few; Petronas, Golden Hope, Mattel, DHL, Shell IT, various banks, UPM, RTM. Other major functions include marketing & communications, business development activities and company operations.

 

He is currently involved in the plantation business of Agarwood (Oodh/Gaharu) in the areas of farming and perfume oil processing technologies. He holds a formal position & sits on the panel of advisors for an association that aims to assist smallholder farmers, producer and related activities pertaining to Agarwood. In his capacity, he has been working closely with bio-technologist/bio-engineers to research and plan on how to increase efficiencies in the distillation techniques in Agarwood oil and to apply green technology to reduce the use of greenhouse fuel to lower the carbon footprint released into the environment.  

NIK AIZA ZAININ, MARCOMM

NIK AIZA DIANTY NIK ZAININ is a media, communications, events and PR specialist with over 15 years work experience in events management and corporate sponsorships. She started her career with Maxis Group Berhad under the Corporate Affairs Division, where she was responsible for group wide events roll-out programmes as well as providing support for marketing events from EBD & CBD.

 

Aiza is currently working with client; Iclif, leadership and corporate governance centre, set up by the Central Bank of Malaysia, and have worked on events including those involving the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund. She is also a freelance consultant with Big Fish Asia handling executive recruitment.

 

Aiza is experienced in leading teams and agencies in executing major events; the launch of the first 3G services in Malaysia, Maxis’ IPO related events, Ministerial level events, signing ceremonies, product launches, annual dinners,  golf tournaments and many more.

 

Aiza holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Missouri – St. Louis, Missouri, USA (1996-1998).

ANNA-KARINA ARIFFIN, CONTENT & RESEARCH

ANNA-KARINA ARIFFIN began her career in Corporate Responsibility (CR) at a Petrochemical company. She left after two years for a short stint in government office and then returned to work in CR in Khazanah Nasional. There, she was involved in Programme Management where she worked to develop a Grants Programme framework wherein funding is provided to Malaysian NGOs based on their eligibility to a set of criteria. She also developed and organized programmes for internal Volunteer Network to instil staff awareness on social issues in Malaysia. Anna was also lead coordinator for Khazanah’s CR Report from the year of its inception (2009) until she left the company in 2012. Since then, Anna has been working as a freelance Copywriter and Editor and has done work for a number of Malaysian Corporates including the CIMB ASEAN Research Institute. She also co-founded Mamaatwork.my, a social enterprise aimed at Malaysian working mothers. She has since left to pursue her freelance work full-time. Anna has a degree in Psychology from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. She is a mother to two girls; a three year old and a seven month old.

ANJA JULIAH, IMPACT CONSULTANT

Anja Juliah Abu Bakar  is the Programme Director in ContentLab. She is a social impact champion who owns her social enterprise Blubear consult. She is an Alumni of the MaGic Accelerator program for Social Enterprise (2015). Anja has over 20 years experience in Human Resource, having worked with an MNC. 

Anja was the only Asian woman selected to participate in the social enterprise forum in Stockholm by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).

 

Anja received the Outstanding ASEAN Women Entrepreneur Award from VCCI, Hanoi (2016), winner in the Best Woman Category Malaysia Innovation Awards by the Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation (MOSTI). Anja is a certified Social Return on Investment (SROI) practitioner by Social Value, UK.

 

Anja is the Founder of Sisterhood Alliance, a social impact organisation that empowers women and girls on life skills and also an exco member of the Women Entrepreneurs Network Association (WENA). She is also a mentor and coach for several SE start-ups in Malaysia.
